The integers are the set of numbers consisting of whole numbers and their negatives. The set of all integers ${\displaystyle \mathbb{Z}}$ is equal to

Every integer can be expressed as a difference of two natural numbers. The set of integers is closed under multiplication, addition, and subtraction, and is a countably infinite set.
