Dependent and independent variables

Thanks for the contributions, but I've deleted the "soft redirect" you set up at Dependent and independent variables. I think we shouldn't encourage those kinds of redirects to Wikipedia articles on this wiki. If we need an article here, just create a stub and add the {{wikipedia}} template to the top of the article to link to WP for more information. (Besides, no article was actually linking to that title, anyway.) - dcljr 19:31, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Hmm. It looks like that might not be the best article to link to after all. The way you're using "dependent" seems to call for a link to Wikipedia:Coupling (computer science) (which is what Wikipedia:Dependency (computer science) redirects to, by the way).

Then I'd recommend just linking to Wikipedia for the moment.

That approach defeats MediaWiki's automatic features related to missing articles, namely redlinks and the special page Special:Wantedpages (both, of course, only useful within a given wiki).
